Book Review: The Green Witch Pt 2. | Jenny The Half Blood Princess & Her IRL Practical Potions Book

Jenny The Half Blood Princess & Her IRL Practical Potions Book

Have you been wondering whether or not to read The Green Witch: Your Complete Guide to the Natural Magic of Herbs, Flowers, Essential Oils, and More, by Arin Murphy-Hiscock

Here is my 3 Part Book Review! You’re reading part 2 of 3. I LOVE this book! It’s not too woo wooey, and has a basis in the real world. It also explains what the Green Witch Path is in such a beautiful modern way.

This is a little bit of a witchy book review. I have finally finished The Green Witch: Your Complete Guide to the Natural Magic of Herbs, Flowers, Essential Oils, and More, by Arin Murphy-Hiscock.

see part 1 of my review of The Green Witch here…

One of the reasons why I really love this book is because when I was reading it I found myself underlining everything. I was making so many notes! It reminded me a little bit of Harry Potter and how Snape has his own potions book that was all scribbled in with things crossed out and replaced with the correct amounts.

So… I kind of felt a little bit like the the Half-Blood Prince and this was my potions book!

In addition to The Green Witch, I totally happened upon the official Harry Potter Spell Book. The Green Witch made me feel like I have my own potions book from Harry Potter and that I’m the half-blood princess. I was super excited when I saw H.P. Spell Book because thought that it would be super fun to put these two books together on my shelf to have two different potions books.

I do love woo woo things at times and fun silly things like this H.P. Spell Book. It is a good reminder that all religions in the world sprung from stories and that any text could potentially become a religious text. I know it’s a perspective that you don’t hear that often, but I think it’s an interesting one. The world is full of stories. To me, religions are different stories that resonate with us. These stories are places that we can find archetypes that help get us through hard times and look to and find inspiration.

Whether you’re witchy or not, this is an amazing book to have in your collection for DIY herb knowledge.

The book is a really great addition to your shelf for DIY Self Care, Homemade Body Products, and of course for transforming your space with scent, which I have talked about before.

I highly recommend this book, you should definitely get it if you are anything like me.

And for funsies and all the Potter Heads out there here is The Unofficial Harry Potter Spellbook. My edition is red and this one is purple.
